Nottingham City Council Employee Mediation Service Nottingham City Council provides an employee mediation service to all its employees, enabling them to address inter-personal issues with their peers, managers or team members. It is used to resolve breakdowns in relationships, communication, trust and respect, as well as instances of bullying, harassment, discrimination or victimisation where those affected prefer an informal process. Mediation can be accessed by employees directly and confidentially, or alternatively, referrals may be made by managers dealing with a conflict situation within their service area, or by human resources officers. Where an employee lodges a complaint under the Council's harassment & discrimination procedure, mediation is offered in the first instance, before a formal process is instigated. This often means that issues can be resolved informally. Mediation can also help get working relationships back on track after a disciplinary or harassment/discrimination investigation. The Employee Mediation Service forms part of the Employee Wellbeing Team within the Human Resources Service. Nottingham City Council employees wishing to access this service should contact the service co-ordinator on 0115 915 5266 Contact address: Employee Mediation Service Employee Wellbeing Team 1st Floor, Exchange Buildings South Cheapside Nottingham NG1 2BS
