Astren Partnership
The Astren partnership offers:
« Mediation services « Conflict resolution workshops « Team development « Partnership building « Expertise in equality, inclusion and community cohesion, with particular reference to Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.
Astren is managed and owned by its two founders, Astrid Hutchinson and Helen Blow. Between them, Helen and Astrid have 25 years of experience in resolving conflict in the workplace, in the community and in education settings.
Astren’s mission is to offer ways forward in conflict situations through high quality inter-personal mediation services and conflict resolution workshops. We aim to enable customers to resolve existing conflict issues, and also to equip them with the skills to successfully manage issues without outside help should they arise in the future.
Our conflict resolution services consist of:
« Direct face-to-face and group mediation « Shuttle Mediation « Conflict resolution training for staff groups in all workplaces, including schools « Conflict resolution workshops for school pupils encompassing aspects of PSHE; Equality, Diversity and Inclusion; Citizenship; SEAL; Behaviour Management and Community Cohesion « Team development
Astren also offers expertise, knowledge and experience in:
« Gypsy, Roma and Traveller (GRT) culture and history « Strategies for addressing factors which limit GRT access to services, engagement, inclusion and, in respect of schools, attendance and attainment « The roles and responsibilities of, and strategies for, services, schools and families « Developing and maintaining effective partnerships across agencies and services to improve opportunities for GRT children and young people across all 5 outcomes of Every Child Matters
